This year however, it’s going to be for all women, young women and girls 8yrs and older!! That is so wise. Reality VT: Do I need a memorable Visiting Teacher?

Real thoughts & experiences by Real Visiting Teachers = Reality VT
When I asked a group of Sisters who their FAVORITE Visiting Teachers were & why? A couple of the responses saddened me but also inspired me.

Sandra said, “I wish I could but in all the years I have been a member I haven’t a v.t. In my home long enough to have one good story.”

Edie said, “Favorites…..the ones that come.”
Why do I feel sad for the Sisters who don’t have memorable Visiting Teachers? It’s good they are consistent, but why not memorable?
Is …

We are His Hands (4×6)

I’m pretty sure that my official month to start the new year is actually February. I do this so many times, the urge to improve hits me in Feb, not Jan. Probably because its my birthday month, but most likely because I’m a procrastinator. Every year around this time I start feeling like I want to do something to help me become who The Lord needs me to become and who I have expected myself to become. (Story for another time.) Gradually I start heading the direction the end of …

Conversion Hearts (4×6)

Nothing like a new baby followed by a New Year to get me motivated enough to get this Visiting Teaching site back up and flowing with great Visiting Teaching ideas, stories, inspiration and more! It’s true the site got hacked, fixed, moved and crashed and fixed again, and got a new calling in between to serve our wonderful Young Women. Phew! When I first designed the site we had just had our 1st little boy, he’s going to be 5 this month! And in October of 2013 we just had …

Summer all the time! I just love spending time with my family, but REAL time not just time in the same room doing different things. You know what I’m saying! I struggle to know what I could be doing to strengthen our relationship with each other and therefore I set out to make a list because I need lots of ideas to choose from and because of course I do love lists. Sure, we are going to be together forever, but if my family doesn’t love spending time with me …

My Super Sweet Supervisor 4×6

As I mentioned on our Facebook page, this Saturday we have Sister Stewardship Interviews, AKA Visiting Teaching Interviews. I volunteered to make Supervisor Contact Cards to help the sisters remember who their Supervisors are and to report after each act of caring or even just before the end of the month so the supervisors don’t have to call a list of sisters to find out the details of the report.
I used to be afraid of sharing the caring, just report if I visited or not. But I have learned that …

Accepting Apples 3×4

We have been approached by yet another very creative and talented sister. Sister Kassidy Thomas started Bow Peep Creations and she founded it in January 2009, here in Utah.  After years of creating handmade gifts for friends and family, Kassidy decided to start her own business. She left the world of hairdressing to follow her dreams. Bow Peep Creations designs amazing products, things for Young Women, Primary, Family Home Evening, Holidays, Kids, Jewelry, and more.

I asked her to tell me why she designed this particular handout. Here is what she …

We need not fear 4×6

Yippy, I really am blown away at the many sisters who are talented with the computer and can design anything and everything for us Visiting Teachers to print. I’m having sisters contact me about designing Visiting Teaching printables. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is true and Visiting Teaching is my errand to be an angel and I am grateful others share this knowledge with me. :)
So this month our Telisa from Sugar Tot Designs has designed a fun Orange, Black on White printable with the following quote from this month’s …

Daughters in My Kingdom Bookmark

(NOTE: This was designed in Sept 2011 but can be reused this month in 2012 to help enhance your VT message and motivate your sisters to read their wonderful manual/book!)
I’m now the education counselor for our ward’s Relief Society and have been asked to make sure we have enough of the new “Daughters in My Kingdom – The history and work of Relief Society” manuals, as well as make sure each sister gets one. Of course I did cute labels with the sisters names on them and put them on …
