I’m thankful for Visiting Teachers! I sometimes get caught up in being a Visiting Teacher that I don’t allow myself to have Visiting Teachers come and visit with me. I guess, I just know how much time goes into being a Visiting Teacher. I always feel bad having them worry about me. But I have to remember that Heavenly Father blesses all of us for our Visiting Teaching service. How can I deprive those sisters the opportunity for more blessings? Being a Visiting Teacher is a calling us female members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints can have after we become part of the Relief Society (women older than 18 group). The President will assign us a “partner” or “companion” and she’ll also assign us a few sisters of whom we are asked to “watch over.”

My companion and I have an equation set up for making appointments, preparing & sharing the lesson, and bringing treats. (I believe all Visiting Teachers should bring some kind of treat, but that’s just me.)
Basic Visiting Teaching Equation:
Comp 1 = Lesson + Lesson Enhancer if Desired
Comp 2 = Make Appointments + Treats if Desired
This has worked for us for over a year and we find it’s easier when you outline these ground rules at the beginning of your calling together as Visiting Teachers. We take turns each month.
