The Church says this: “Because the May Liahona and Ensign contain a report of the April 2012 general conference, there is not a specifically designated First Presidency Message or Visiting Teaching Message for May. Home and visiting teachers are encouraged to prayerfully select their message from the addresses given during general conference.”
Visit the general conference website to read, watch, or listen to conference addresses.

Watchcare & Ministering (4×5 cards)

Sister Telisa from Sugar Tot Designs, with everything that’s going on in her life and soon to be mom of 3 boys under 3 (she reminds me of my amazing MIL) has taken the time to design a darling postcard to give or mail to the sisters we visit teach to help remind them of this months Visiting Teaching Message. There are four 4×5″ cards on a page.
Some goals she has set for herself this year 2012 are:
1- STAY CALM
2- Read the Book of Mormon with my family EVERY DAY
3- …

Accepting Apples 3×4

We have been approached by yet another very creative and talented sister. Sister Kassidy Thomas started Bow Peep Creations and she founded it in January 2009, here in Utah.  After years of creating handmade gifts for friends and family, Kassidy decided to start her own business. She left the world of hairdressing to follow her dreams. Bow Peep Creations designs amazing products, things for Young Women, Primary, Family Home Evening, Holidays, Kids, Jewelry, and more. My favorite of course are the Visiting Teaching Gifts and Handouts.

I asked …

Family Home Evening Agenda

I had the pleasure this month of teaching our presidency lesson in Relief Society the 1st week of July. Our Bishop suggested we continue to focus on the family and therefore the lesson was titled, “Family Home Evening.” There is a plethora of information out there, such as; when the Family Home Evening Program was 1st announced (96 years ago, wow we need it more now than ever!), why we need to have FHEs (to stay together), what lessons can be taught (everything!), to be consistent (every week!), to make …

General Conference (May ’11)

This month we have the privileged to review the messages which touched our hearts and spirits during April 2011′s General Conference and watch/listen/download/read the ones we maybe missed the first time around.
You can watch, listen, read or download any of the General Conference Messages. You can even download the entire May 2011 Ensign, Spanish, Portuguese or other in PDF version to read on your mobile device if you don’t have internet access at all times.
I was able to use my “General Conference Journal Page” (for adults) to take notes during …

General Conference Traditions Booklet

As we prepare to hear the words of the Prophet and other mouthpieces of the Lord, I find myself focusing on the more important things in my life.  There are things I strive to accomplish personally in my life, as a wife, as a mother, but especially as a daughter of God here on the Earth with purpose and direction.  What exactly is that direction? Sometimes, I feel like there are so many different things pulling me in a lot of different directions all at once. You sisters seem to …

General Conference Journal Page

I’ve been wanting to start a General Conference Journal. So here’s my chance here in 2011! After sharing it with our ward I figured I’d share it with you all too. Seriously, there were so many cute ideas out there for Youth, Primary and even Nursery! I wanted something that wasn’t super “showy” for adults and not too cutesy that guys wouldn’t like it either. Something that would help me concentrate on General Conference and help me get the most out of it. I also wanted to make sure I …

General Conference Helps

As many of you may have noticed, this November 2010 General Conference issue of the Ensign/Liahona has some great helps and teaching tools besides the printed text of all the messages shared. Here’s an overview with the files which you can print at home for the sisters you Visit Teach in case you feel they need them or if they don’t even have a copy of the Ensign or Liahona magazines.
General Authorities Chart: This contained a two-page chart showing the General Authorities of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day …

General Conference Window Cleaner Card

I chose to create an enhancer for this message from the General Relief Society Meeting, because, I personally needed to hear President Monson’s message titled Charity Never Faileth. I never thought of myself as being judgmental, but after listening to him and re-reading his message, I believe I have some work to do. My Favorite part, of course, is this one:
““Why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?” Or, to paraphrase, why beholdest thou what you …
