Bread of Life 4×6

This month’s Visitingteaching Message is titled “The Divine Mission of Jesus Christ: Bread of Life.” Jesus said, “I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever” (John 6:51). “Jesus teaches us, His disciples, that we should look to God each day for the bread—the help and sustenance—we require in that particular day,” said Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
The scripture I partially quoted in the picture is John 6:35 – “And Jesus said unto them, …

My Prayer Sandwich

After reading this month’s Visiting Teaching Message, I also went ahead and read the First Presidency Message. While reading these 2 messages I realized I haven’t fasted in almost 2 years! Here’s the story. When I was first called to serve as our ward’s Young Women President I needed all of the help from heaven, to be more receptive to the Spirit, to help me remember the things I read for the purpose of teaching and inspiring these amazing daughters of God and of course to help me have an increase …

Jesus Christ Subway Art

After 2.5yrs, 3 Young Women Girls Camps later & finally completing the YW Personal Progress Program, I come to you a changed woman. I will miss those sweet spirits, those amazing daughters of God we got to serve. They will each hold a special place in my heart forever! That calling has made me more compassionate, more understanding, definitely more courageous, even more determined and more committed to not just my family but to the Lord’s work here on the Earth. I’ll forever be grateful for this experience, which I …

General Conference (May ’11)

This month we have the privileged to review the messages which touched our hearts and spirits during April 2011’s General Conference and watch/listen/download/read the ones we maybe missed the first time around.
You can watch, listen, read or download any of the General Conference Messages. You can even download the entire May 2011 Ensign, Spanish, Portuguese or other in PDF version to read on your mobile device if you don’t have internet access at all times.
I was able to use my “General Conference Journal Page” (for adults) to take notes during …

General Conference Traditions Booklet

As we prepare to hear the words of the Prophet and other mouthpieces of the Lord, I find myself focusing on the more important things in my life.  There are things I strive to accomplish personally in my life, as a wife, as a mother, but especially as a daughter of God here on the Earth with purpose and direction.  What exactly is that direction? Sometimes, I feel like there are so many different things pulling me in a lot of different directions all at once. You sisters seem to …

General Conference Journal Page

I’ve been wanting to start a General Conference Journal. So here’s my chance here in 2011! After sharing it with our ward I figured I’d share it with you all too. Seriously, there were so many cute ideas out there for Youth, Primary and even Nursery! I wanted something that wasn’t super “showy” for adults and not too cutesy that guys wouldn’t like it either. Something that would help me concentrate on General Conference and help me get the most out of it. I also wanted to make sure I …

Jesus Christ Bookmark

June 2006 message, “Renewing Covenants through the Sacrament,” is centered on our Savior, Jesus Christ. We make & keep sacred covenants and promise to always remember Him. We can remember Jesus by not only thinking of him, but by being like Him. As children we are taught to think of Jesus during the sacrament, I still think of Him but now I find myself thinking about how to keep our son quiet, and possibly end up making more noise in the process. We purchased a board book for our son …

Avoiding Debt Purse

The past 2 weeks I’ve been “brainstorming,” or surfing the net, to spark an idea for a fun printable about debt and money saving for February’s Visiting Teaching Message. My wise Hubby says if I want something I need to “save my money.” Probably because he knows how I used to be with $$. LOL  I love that statement, it’s simple and yet powerful at the same time, because it helps me to reevaluate my purchase. If I’m not willing to “save my money” for it, I probably didn’t want …

Self-Reliant Goals Sheet

At the start of this New Year, my husband & I reviewed our 2010 goals and then he mentioned that in order to realize my goals, or make them happen, I need to write them down and post them up somewhere so I can see them often. Then I’ll have that constant reminder. This is a great idea, he’s such a smart guy! I’m a list person (if you couldn’t tell), therefore if I don’t make a list, I’m just going from one thing to the next without actually finishing …

Treat Tuesday #32 – Service Mittens

Today’s Treat is on Wednesday! These “Service Mittens” include the first quote from this month’s Visiting Teaching Message by President Dieter F. Uchtdorf Second Counselor in the First Presidency. I chose these cute mittens because, it’s snowing outside and when I think of serving others in the snowy winter season, I think of shoveling snow. Why? It’s a service which you know they need done simply by looking out your window or driving by, it can be done anonymously (if doing it early in the morning or when people are …
