Ribbon Scripture Bookmarks

Today’s Treat can be made from some scraps of ribbon and some plastic craft canvas (the kind with a ton of squares usually for yarn projects). They are Ribbon Bookmarks! I made these myself and have them in my scriptures (quad) and are very handy and totally add color to your scriptures. Most importantly, they help me to know where I am for various studying needs, like Sunday School, Personal & Family Scripture Study and then just a couple others for scriptures I like to look back on. There are …

Scripture Reading Charts

To motivate your sisters, and maybe even yourself, to “search the scriptures diligently” I went out into the World Wide Web in hopes of finding some sweet scripture reading charts. I found a ton! So, instead of creating my own, I will post the good ones I found here with their respective websites so you all can decide which one best fits the needs of the sisters you Visit Teach.

Likening Twilight to a Visiting Teaching Message

Last post for this month. I am sure you all have seen this Visiting Teaching Cartoon going around from 9thWardCartoons.com but I couldn’t resist posting it this month seeing as it is obviously a perfect fit with this month’s Visiting Teaching message. Could be an enhancer too, okay well maybe only for me.

[Click image to enlarge it.] Image Description (for those who can’t see the image above): 3 ladies sitting on a couch in a living room and a lamp on the right. 2 sisters are sitting close to each …

Establish a House with Gum!

If you haven’t gone Visiting Teaching yet, no worries, I found another message enhancer for you. Today I found this super awesome idea on another cute Visiting Teaching blog by Kristin to enhance March’s Visiting Teaching Message. So glad others feel the same way about Visiting Teaching as I do. :) You can also use this message enhancer as a drop by gift, just to keep reinforcing this month’s message, depending on what part of the message you want to focus on for the sisters you Visit Teach.

She’s using this …

Find your Starfish

Here’s a cute story “Be Involved,” which totally goes along with the March Visiting Teaching Message. It’s about Starfish! I made it into a Starfish printable which you can use to give out to your sisters and does not have the St. Patrick’s Day theme. The text on the Starfish has the story & the last quote from Elder Robert S. Wood from the VT message. Click here to download the free PDF printable or click the black & white image below.

Shamrock Heart Handout

So this month’s handout is inspired by a shamrock / 4 leafed clover. As usual, just some quotes were selected to fit into the handout. Fast Break

I’m sure you know this by now that, my favorite way to emphasize a quote is with something you can eat. Chocolate is my #1 favorite thing to eat.
Attach the following quote from the March 2009 Visiting Teaching Message to a Fast Break Candy bar:
Elder M. Russell Ballard of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles: “I call upon members of the Church and on committed parents, grandparents, and extended family members everywhere to hold fast to [the family] proclamation, to make it a banner not unlike General Moroni’s ‘title of …

The Family Proclamation

Because the quote from the March 2009 Visiting Teaching Message says to “hold fast to [the family] proclamation” you can give the Fast Break Candy Bar with a copy of “The Family – A Proclamation to the World.”
You can pick up a nice color printed original from the Church Distribution (if you live in Utah) for free, order it online for free or print the PDF file yourself.
Wrap a ribbon around it and attach this quote:
Elder M. Russell Ballard of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles: “I call upon members …

Uphold, Nourish, and Protect the Family – Ensign, Mar 2009, 68

Why Must I Defend the Doctrine of the Family?
The First Presidency and Quorum of the Twelve Apostles: “The family is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity” (“The Family: A Proclamation to the World,” Liahona, Oct. …
