#LDSConf Visiting Teaching (Nov ’15)

“185th Semiannual General Conference,” Ensign/Liahona, Oct 2015
One of my favorite months out of the whole year for Visiting Teaching! Getting to choose messages to share with my sisters is so fantastic because each one needs a little something different and because of that I get to review all of the talks from #LDSConf to help me know which one will be best for them. Sure it’s a crazy amount of talks to review, but in the end I’m the one who really benefits anyways because I always learn so much from reviewing several talks.
I’ve …

Bread of Life 4×6

This month’s Visitingteaching Message is titled “The Divine Mission of Jesus Christ: Bread of Life.” Jesus said, “I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever” (John 6:51). “Jesus teaches us, His disciples, that we should look to God each day for the bread—the help and sustenance—we require in that particular day,” said Elder D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
The scripture I partially quoted in the picture is John 6:35 – “And Jesus said unto them, …

My Prayer Sandwich

After reading this month’s Visiting Teaching Message, I also went ahead and read the First Presidency Message. While reading these 2 messages I realized I haven’t fasted in almost 2 years! Here’s the story. When I was first called to serve as our ward’s Young Women President I needed all of the help from heaven, to be more receptive to the Spirit, to help me remember the things I read for the purpose of teaching and inspiring these amazing daughters of God and of course to help me have an increase …

Jesus Christ Subway Art

After 2.5yrs, 3 Young Women Girls Camps later & finally completing the YW Personal Progress Program, I come to you a changed woman. I will miss those sweet spirits, those amazing daughters of God we got to serve. They will each hold a special place in my heart forever! That calling has made me more compassionate, more understanding, definitely more courageous, even more determined and more committed to not just my family but to the Lord’s work here on the Earth. I’ll forever be grateful for this experience, which I …

4×6 Orlando Temple Fountain

Today I had the honor of using the most beautiful image of the Orlando Florida Temple from Temples in Bloom, (Thank you Kim!) to create our handout for this Month’s Visiting Teaching Message. THE DIVINE MISSION OF JESUS CHRIST: SAVIOR & REDEEMER. Gorgeous! Right?!
Can I just say that I absolutely love this temple! I grew up in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida (it was the 1st Temple in Florida), the only temple closest to us before that was the Atlanta Georgia Temple. Our youth would road trip to Atlanta Georgia every other year. Ah…the …

Protect our Families (4×6)

March 2014’s Visiting Teaching message has some great inspirational quotes.
This one particularly stood out to me by President Eyring he said, “Each time you choose to try to live more like the Savior, you will have your testimony strengthened. You will come in time to know for yourself that He is the Light of the World.”
There is one main principle I am reminded of in that quote.
If I act, I will KNOW for myself!
One of my BFFs always reminds me there is a difference between knowing OF something and KNOWING something. …

We are His Hands (4×6)

I’m pretty sure that my official month to start the new year is actually February. I do this so many times, the urge to improve hits me in Feb, not Jan. Probably because its my birthday month, but most likely because I’m a procrastinator. Every year around this time I start feeling like I want to do something to help me become who The Lord needs me to become and who I have expected myself to become. (Story for another time.) Gradually I start heading the direction the end of …

Conversion Hearts (4×6)

Nothing like a new baby followed by a New Year to get me motivated enough to get this Visiting Teaching site back up and flowing with great Visiting Teaching ideas, stories, inspiration and more! It’s true the site got hacked, fixed, moved and crashed and fixed again, and got a new calling in between to serve our wonderful Young Women. Phew! When I first designed the site we had just had our 1st little boy, he’s going to be 5 this month! And in October of 2013 we just had …
